Today was a pretty low key day for the most part. I met up with the protest groups at Civic Center park and photographed the rally and the march through the 16th street mall to the Federal Court House and saw the mock waterboarding – that was definitly intense.
After that I called it an afternoon and headed home to recharge and grab lunch. I headed back out to Civic Center park at 3pm to catcht he concerts and it was a really slow afternoon so I headed back home. 6pm came and I had heard people were meeting up then so I headed out to check it out and not too much was going on so we decided to walk down the 16th street mall and it was quite there too. I headed into the Walgreens as I neeed a couple things. On my way out we were going to hop on the free mall ride but just as it pulled up security informed us that all busses and trains were being shut down due to an emergency. One of the bicycle police teams we heard yell they were on their way to 15th and Tremont so we ran that way to catch up just in time to ingest a little tear gas and confrot the SWAT team and riot squads.
